Admission Numbers

This is the number of children who can be admitted in the school year.

Catchment Areas

Each academy/school has its own catchment area which serves their local communities. When completing the relevant forms parents are still required to express their preference/choice of academy/school even if the academy/school chosen is in the ‘catchment’ area. However, it cannot be guaranteed that there will be a place for every child at their catchment area academy/school although every effort is made to place the child at their first choice academy/school. If there is any doubt which catchment area you live in please contact the Admissions Team at County Hall.

Siblings

This category includes children with brothers or sisters (including step brothers or sisters residing at the same address) of statutory school age, living at the same address, in attendance at the same academy/school, or an academy/school on the same site, on the date of admission.

Families Living Outside the District Boundary

Families living outside the district boundary will be considered alongside those who live within the Wakefield Metropolitan District.

Children in Care

This includes children who are subject to care orders or interim care orders or who are accommodated by a local authority in full-time placements.

The Admissions Team at Family Services is happy to give advice on all aspect of admission to the academy’s/schools in the area.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
