Gearing up for Children in Need

We’re gearing up to support Children in Need next Friday with a variety of activities to raise vital funds for this important charity. Find out more below…

Art and Literacy Competition

Create a piece of art work or a literacy piece, linked to Children in Need, and email it to enquiries@ossett.academy.org by 11th November. With prizes available for the winners, why wouldn’t you?!!

Pudsey Wear

On Friday 13th November all students will be able to show their support of the work Children in Need are doing by wearing Pudsey ears, badges, spotty socks and spotty face masks. Staff at Ossett Academy are doing a Spotty Sewing Bee to make masks that students and staff can purchase and wear on the day. Students must wear their normal Ossett Academy uniform, but can add the additional Pudsey Bear bling on the day….Bring along spare cash to donate and help us raise money for Children in Need.

Cake Sale

Next week we hope there will be a variety of Children in Need themed biscuits and cakes to purchase at each food point in the Academy – we are just relying on a supplier!

These can be purchased using your payment cards, all money for the Children in Need purchases will then be donated to the charity.

Children in Need Quiz

During Form Learning Time next week all students will take part in a quiz based on the charity. It’s a great opportunity to learn about where the money goes and which celebrities have helped raise money over the years!

Do you want to be the proud owner of this Pudsey Bear?

Keep an eye out to purchase your lucky number to be in with a chance to win him!

We’ll update about other ways in which we’re supporting the charity and we’ll be raising funds as a Trust through JustGiving: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/accordcin

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
