Academy Kitchen Provision

Allergy Information

Gluten-free options are available on request. Students should speak with the kitchen staff at morning break if they have a request for lunch that day.

We are a nut free school. Pupils are not permitted to bring in nuts or nut products.

All our food is hand-crafted and freshly prepared on site daily. We do have an allergen procedure in place but our kitchens are used for multi-purpose production so we cannot guarantee that dishes will be completely free from allergenic ingredients or traces of these.

If you have any concerns or questions relating to academy lunches, please do not hesitate to contact us via enquiries@ossett.accordmat.org.

Paying for Lunches

We operate a cashless fingerprint system run through the online system Scopay. Parents and carers can set up a Scopay account online and check their balance or top up from home using a credit/debit card.

To request a link to set up a Scopay account please contact finance@ossett.accordmat.org.

A debit balance of no greater than £10 is permitted per account. If debit balances reach £10, parents and carers will be prompted for payment. Services may be withdrawn until the debit is cleared.

Biometrics System

We operate a cashless catering system which uses biometric data to access your child’s account.

Pupils’ fingerprints are analysed and converted into a series of data points by a mathematical algorithm. It is this series of data points that can then be used to quickly identify a person from another scan of their fingerprint. These data points cannot be used to reconstruct a fingerprint even with the algorithm available. The level of detail stored in these data points is well below the level needed for forensic identification and therefore would be completely inadmissible both in terms of quality and legality in court.

The data points are encrypted before being stored in the iDStore database. The database is protected by a licence key which means that the database and any back up of its contents can only be accessed on licenced hardware.

Pupils are usually registered onto the biometric system in September when they start in Year 7. Should you wish to change your consent preferences at any time, please contact enquiries@ossett.accordmat.org.
