In 2021 pupils and students have been awarded teacher assessed grades. Information on this process including the centre policy and JCQ guidance can be found on the Teacher Assessed Grades 2021 page.

Year 10 GCSE Results
On Thursday 25 August it is the 2022 GCSE Results Day. Pupils in Year 10 who have completed a qualification early and have been awarded a teacher assessed grade will be sent their grade via their school email account from 12pm on Thursday. Pupils will not need to come onto the Academy site to collect their result/s. Printouts of results will be issued to pupils in September.

Appeals Procedure

All students have the right to appeal a teacher assessed grade. Please find below a link to the Academy’s guidance on this process and a link to the JCQ guidance.

For further guidance on appeals in 2021 please refer to the JCQ Guidance.

Following the attached guidance, please use the form below to submit an appeal at Stage One (initially) and Stage Two.

  • Appeals Request Form 2021

As part of the Teacher Assessed Grade process, all schools were required to submit their centre policy and a sample of evidence from a range of subjects at both GCSE and A level to ensure the centre policy was effectively administered and a reasonable process of academic judgement was applied. Ossett Academy’s centre policy and sample were approved through this process.

Help and Guidance

Contact the Academy – we are here to help

Should you require any assistance in relation to your examination results, be this academic or welfare support, please contact the academy in the first instance. You can do this on-site at the results collections times above. Once you have received your results you can do this by contacting the academy on enquiries@ossett.accordmat.org or enquiries@ossettsixth.co.uk

Autumn Examination Series

A further option that you have outside of the appeals process, is to undertake examinations in one or more of the subjects where you believe the grade does not represent your ability, or the grade you believe you could have achieved should the summer exam series had gone ahead. The autumn exam series is an opportunity for students who either were unable to receive a calculated grade in the summer, or who want to try to improve their grade.

The dates for the autumn exam series are:

  • 4th to 22nd October 2021 for A levels
  • 1st November to 3rd December GCSE

Please see the Autumn Series Request Form – you will need to complete and submit to the exams officer at the Academy should you wish to sit any exams as part of the autumn exam series. Before doing so, please speak to a member of the Senior Leadership Team or your subject teachers for further guidance.

National Exam Results Helpline

The national exam results helpline, delivered by the National Careers Service, will also be available from 9to 20 August to provide additional support to students and their parents as they receive their exam results. Callers to the helpline will have direct access to experienced careers advisers who can advise on the different options available to them including T levels, A levels, GCSEs, BTECs, apprenticeships and other vocational options. Support will also be available on topics such as clearing, university, gap years and the autumn 2020 exam series.

  • Phone: 0800 100 900
  • Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 8am to 10pm

Absence from Examinations

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
